Governor Murphy:

Due to rising COVID concerns and threats on the horizon, CWA State Worker Locals and the National Union filed a group grievance against the State of NJ regarding health and safety in our worksites.

During this entire pandemic, CWA has protected members through remote working, physical safety improvements in the workplace, masking and social distancing, and counseling members through these difficult and confusing times.

Now, for several reasons, we believe the best way to significantly reduce risk is to return to hybrid remote working schedules. The full State return-to-office in November has coincided with a rising number of COVID positive cases in our worksites, new COVID variants spreading across the country, holidays, colder weather and other issues. Based on these trends going in the wrong direction, CWA believes a return to hybrid schedules for a period of at least 60 days is required to protect our membership, reduce workplace infections, and keep government working for the people of NJ.
