Get Big Money Out of Politics!

President Obama

President Obama has the opportunity to shed the light on millions of dollars in political spending by signing an executive order to require federal government contractors to reveal their campaign donations.

The federal government has spent over $400 billion on private sector contracts in the past year, and many of these same companies are using these federal dollars to secretly donate unlimited amounts of money to shadowy outside political action groups. These dark money groups spent over $300 million in the last election, and it is impossible to track where all of this money came from.

Tell President Obama to get this dark money out of the political system and tell corporations they must disclose all of the money they spend to influence our elections.

When politicians have to spend so much time raising money, they naturally end up mostly hearing the concerns of the wealthy – they’re the ones donating the most cash.

That's why I strongly support requiring corporations that bid for government contracts to disclose their campaign spending.
