Share Your GDIT Story

Use your voice to fight for fair pay and respect at GDIT! In January, a group of GDIT workers from Louisiana and Mississippi met with elected leaders in DC to share their stories about struggling to make ends meet working at GDIT. We have powerful allies in electeds like Bernie Sanders, Keith Ellison, Rosa De Lauro and Elizabeth Warren, but we need more on our side. Because GDIT is a federal contractor, elected leaders could have a real impact on our fight. They need to hear from you to know that thousands of us are standing together to demand change.
Write a postcard to your Senators and Representatives to share your story and explain what the low pay at GDIT means for you and your family. Make sure the comment you share is personal! Speak about how living on such a low wage has impacted your life personally.
Examples:
"If I made a decent wage, I would be able to make a better life for myself and my children. Being a single mother has been rough. Living paycheck to paycheck is no kind of life. Give us what we deserve for the work we preform."- Mary Hatcher, GDIT Call Center Worker, Corbin, KY
"The current pay at GDIT means that my family and I have to decide which bills to get paid this month and which to leave to get paid, I hope, the following month. The pay that I get presently doesn't allow me to take proper care of myself which prevents me from taking care of my loved ones."
