Bring Back Bianca Rally

Start: Thursday, September 10, 201506:00 PM

Verizon Wireless has announced its plan to fire Bianca Cunningham from her job at the Retail Store in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.

In 2014, Verizon Wireless workers in Brooklyn, NY started a movement for their rights at work, with Bianca and her coworkers leading the charge. Now, workers at six retail stores in Brooklyn and one retail store in Massachusetts are members of the Communications Workers of America.

Bianca tore down management’s wall between unionized Verizon landline and mostly non-union Verizon Wireless - where, out of a workforce of 50,000, 155 workers are unionized. And for that, the company wanted Bianca gone.

Now Bianca and her co-workers are fighting for their first contract, alongside the 39,000 Wireline workers whose contract expired on August 1st. Despite $1 billion a month in profits, Verizon refuses to offer any raises, benefits or improvements to working conditions for the retail store workers.

We won’t let the company get away with this. Please join us for a rally to save Bianca’s job and to win a fair contract at Verizon Wireless.
