Petition to Capitol Bridge Health Services
Capitol Bridge Health Services
To Whom It May Concern,
We the employees of the Bogalusa, Louisiana Contact Center Operations (CCO) call center, are dedicated customer service representatives who have extensive knowledge and expertise in helping our callers navigate complex systems to access the healthcare they need. For years, we have demanded that Maximus improve wages, benefits and working conditions at the Bogalusa location and stop interfering with our right to organize our union. As the new subcontractor in Bogalusa, we are informing Capitol Bridge Health Services that no matter whose name is on the paperwork, we still do the work that keeps this contract, and we will continue standing up for justice in our workplace.
On June 5th, we walked off the job to protest the unacceptable working conditions in the Bogalusa call center. We called on Maximus to raise wages to $25 per hour, to prevent unfair layoffs, and to provide fair opportunities for advancement for all workers.
As the new contractor in Bogalusa, we call on Capitol Bridge Health Services to;
Ensure that all pay, benefits and working conditions offered by CBHS are be the same or better to those offered by Maximus at the Bogalusa, LA location as of June 2023.
Eliminate any probationary period for workers transitioning from Maximus. We are not new to the job, we are experienced professionals.
Provide at least 2 hours of sick pay accumulated for every 30 hours worked.
Offer a vacation buy option or provide an additional week of vacation.
Maintain 3 days of bereavement, not decrease to 2.
Maintain the 13 week rolling period for attendance hours not a 12 month rolling period.
Respect our right to organize our union free from intimidation and interference and bargain over the working conditions, pay and benefits that we deserve. We should not have to strike, disrupting services for our customers, in order to make our voices heard. But we will if we have to.
Sincerely,
